Praying Scripture over Emotional Numbness

Praying Scripture over Emotional Numbness: Sometimes we don’t feel sad or angry — we just feel… nothing.

Topic: Emotional Numbness — When Your Heart Feels Flat

A woman shared that she hadn’t felt joy or excitement in weeks. She wasn’t sure why — she just felt disconnected from her own emotions.

Emotions

She felt dull.
She felt detached from any kind of feeling.
She also felt spiritually distant.

Seek God’s Word

She prayed David’s prayer:

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Psalm 51:12

She asked God to awaken what felt numb.

Personal Application

If your heart feels flat, God can restore what feels lost.

Journal

Where have you felt emotionally numb? What do you want God to restore?

Praying Scripture

What truth from this verse can you pray?  Allow God’s Word to speak truth over your lack of feelings.

Pray Psalm 51:12  (or choose another one on your own) back to the Lord.  Ask Him to give you joy and to awaken your desire to draw close to Him.  Use your own words and speak directly to your Heavenly Father about your feeling of self-doubt.

Reflection

Later in the week, take a few minutes to reflect on how God has moved in the situation or in your heart? How has He answered your prayer?

P.S.  If you found another verse to pray for this topic, please share it in the comments for others to consider for their Praying Scriptures Journal also.
